Q: What is a doula?

A doula is professionally trained in supporting woman and their partners during childbirth and the postpartum period. The doula’s role is to help you have the most satisfying birth possible – as you define it. This includes educational and informative information during pregnancy, physical and emotional support during labor, and continuous support throughout the postpartum period.

Q: Do doulas make decisions on my behalf?

A doula does not make decisions for clients or intervene in any decisions made by medical professionals. A doula provides both informational and emotional support, while respecting a woman and her partners decisions with continuous non judgmental support.

Q: Will a doula replace my partner?

No. A doula provides support to both the mother and her partner, and plays a crucial role in helping a partner feel involved  at whatever extent that may be. Partners and doulas work together to create an amazing team!

Q: What is premier doula services all about?

The Premier doula service is made to be personally customized according to the needs of the client individually. It can include setting up the nursery, preparing the baby registry, shopping with the doula, extra personal time, more interaction with the doula, and labor and postpartum services.

Q: What is a postpartum doula?

Postpartum doulas help families make a comfortable transition after baby or babies are born. 

​

Q: What hours can I expect a postpartum doula to work with my family?

Postpartum doulas work any hours including over nights. The amount of hours can range anywhere from two hours to twenty four hour shifts.
